Before we move on, let us take a moment to think about what comes next. In Part 2, we’ll turn our attention to strategies teachers can use to facilitate effective communication between students. After that, in Part 3, we’ll spend time looking at how we can build students’ capacity to communicate effectively. In Part 4, we’ll examine five different strategies teachers can apply, modify or adapt to create opportunities for teamwork during lessons. And in Part 5, we’ll turn our attention to the different techniques teachers can use to train students in how to negotiate when working as part of a team. In part 6, we’ll conclude the course by exploring some of the ways teachers can scaffold the development of learners’ speaking and listening skills, both of which are crucial aspects of communication and effective teamwork.
