Planning effective lessons

Before we conclude our opening section, let us take a quick look ahead to see what we will cover in the rest of the course. In Parts 2 and 3 we will focus our attention on developing learning objectives and ensuring these are sufficiently challenging. Then, in Parts 4 and 5, we’ll explore what makes good starter activities and how you can use these to engage and enthuse your learners. In Parts 6 and 7 we’ll look at how to plan effective main activities, including using Bloom’s Taxonomy as a tool for doing this, and in Part 8 we’ll explore what good plenaries look like, before finally touching on how to assess student learning in Part 9.

The program is particularly suited to school leaders, heads of department and teachers.
