As we conclude this opening section, let’s take a moment to look ahead and see what’s still to come. In Parts 2 and 3, we’ll explore some of the fundamentals of coaching in more depth, looking first at how to distinguish between coaching, mentoring and performance managing, before examining coaching relationships. After that, in Parts 4 and 5, we’ll home in on the specifics of instructional coaching, including the role of the coach. Parts 6-8 cover the three phases of instructional coaching, taking us through the structure you can use to ensure any project is a success. And finally, in Part 9, we’ll spend some time thinking about how you can use instructional coaching to improve teaching and learning across your school.
