As we reach the end of the first part of the course, let us pause for a moment and look ahead to what is still to come. In Part 2, we will look at the importance of establishing teams and roles in any instructional rounds project, as well as the logistical issues you will need to consider to make your project a success. In Parts 3-6, we will explore, in turn, the four phases of an instructional rounds project. This begins with identifying a ‘problem of practice’ (Part 3), followed by observation groups collecting data (Part 4), then sees groups debriefing after their observations (Part 5) before concluding with recommendations being made for future work, based on what has been agreed in the debrief (Part 6).

Learning Outcome 1: Learn what instructional rounds is as a process and how it can be applied in schools to help develop the quality of teaching and learning.
