Prior to moving on, we should take a minute to consider what lies ahead. In Part 2, we examine the idea of verbal rehearsal and look at a selection of strategies teachers can use to embed the practice in their teaching, empowering students as a result. After that, in Part 3, we look at various techniques teachers can use to model and scaffold effective language use for their learners. Then, in Part 4, we turn our attention to supporting students who are learning an additional language, examining five key techniques in the process. In Part 5, we explore a set of writing techniques suitable for use across the curriculum, all of which help empower students by developing their ability to use language with skill and confidence. Then, In Part 6, we conclude things by turning our attention to using DARTs to help develop learners’ reading abilities, offering a nice complement to our earlier focus on writing.
